RTD Southeast Rail Extension (SERE)

PK Electrical designed the system-wide electrical and communications package for this 2.3 mile light rail extension as well as the electrical, communications and lighting at the three new passenger stations associated with the extension. The system-wide electrical engineering services PK Electrical provided included the design of the power and lighting for roadway, tunnels and bridges, mainline concrete encased duct bank with provisions for power and communications below 600V, and duct bank lateral connections to all corridor-required signal houses, signals, communication cases, rail switches, switch heaters and motor operated disconnects. In addition to the new end of line station, the project had two other new stations which are walkup or neighborhood stations. The project tied into the existing Lincoln Station and added a pocket track in between the existing tail tracks. Construction cost was $200 million.
